Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge, Orlando Florida

I just returned from a fun-tastic family vacation to Disney World. It was so nice to get away with the family for a few days and escape the cold here in NY.

Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food

A foodie vacation is never complete without a trip to the farmers' market, and there are 11 markets throughout the Chesapeake Bay region, Fresh Farm Markets.

Lunch at The Mandarin Oriental DC with Chef Matthew Petersen

From left to right, Leslie, Tina and myself.
Day two of our eating extravaganza started at the Mandarin Oriental hotel. The timing of our trip couldn't have been better because we actually got to see a special access team scaling the Washington Monument looking for cracks. You can barely make it out in the photo above, but this close up below you can see them a little better...

Not something you get to see everyday!

Eating My Way Through DC

Hi there! If you were wondering where I've been these past few days, I just returned from a three day, food-centered trip to DC, hosted by Destinations DC, the official convention and tourism corporation for Washington DC along with Tina of Carrots n Cupcakes and Leslie of And Her Little Dog Too.

This trip combined my two biggest passions, food and travel. From a foodie perspective, DC has so much to offer whether it's sampling local favorites from neighborhood eateries or indulging in award-winning cuisine at 5 diamond awarded restaurants such as the Mandarin Oriental Hotel's CityZen. You can experience affordable cuisine from diverse countries including Ethiopian, Salvadorean, Mexican, Thai and more to world class dining by James Beard award winning chef Jose Andres.
